How it works
Transparent PNG areas are composited over white, then the image is encoded as JPEG at your chosen quality. Transparent regions become white because JPEG does not support alpha channels.

What happens to transparency?

Does quality 100 mean lossless?
No. JPEG is always lossy; 100 is simply the highest visual quality setting.
