How it works

The tool opens the PDF with pdf-lib and rewrites it from scratch, discarding unreferenced objects and legacy data. Compression is honest: the UI always shows the measured before/after sizes, and large-file recompression is not silently faked.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my PDF not shrink much?

Many PDFs are already compact. If the size difference is tiny, the tool keeps the original and tells you the file was already well optimized.

Can it recompress embedded images?

Rebuilding drops redundant data. Heavy image re-encoding in the browser is skipped to avoid degrading quality unpredictably - the tool stays lossless.

Is my document uploaded?

No - compression happens entirely in your browser.
