How it works

The open-source PDF.js engine renders each page onto a canvas inside your browser; the canvas is then exported as a JPEG. Rendering happens entirely on your device.

Frequently asked questions

Does it handle scanned PDFs?

Yes - content is rendered as pixels, so both scanned and digital PDFs produce images.

What is a good resolution?

150 DPI is fine for screen use; 300 DPI suits printing. Higher values create much larger files.

Are my PDFs sent anywhere?

No. The whole conversion runs locally.
