Salary Calculator
Convert gross/annual salary to hourly, weekly and monthly, and estimate take-home.
How to use this tool
- Enter pay as annual, monthly, weekly or hourly.
- Set hours per week and weeks per year.
- Optionally enter tax rate % to estimate net.
- See the full conversion table for every unit.
How it works
All rates derive from annual (or yearly-equivalent) income: monthly = /12, weekly = /52, hourly = annual / (weeks × hours). Net = gross × (1 − tax rate).
Tips
- For hourly roles, quote the fully-loaded rate (incl. unpaid breaks), not the posted rate.
- Include bonuses by annualizing them.
- Compare net, not gross, when weighing offers.
Limitations
Net pay assumes a single effective tax rate — exact withholding requires local tax brackets.
Frequently asked questions
How do you convert yearly to hourly?
Yearly ÷ (52 weeks × hours per week). The calculator uses your entered hours per week (default 40).
Is take-home accurate?
It's an estimate using the tax rate fields you supply. Real deductions are country- and situation-specific.
Why does the calculator ask for a tax rate?
Tax systems differ; a single effective rate keeps it useful everywhere. Enter your marginal or effective rate or leave blank for gross figures.
