Frequently asked questions
How is the per-person amount computed?
Total = bill + (bill x tip%) (+ optional tax). Per person = total divided by the number of people.
Should tips be pre-tax or post-tax?
Many tip on the pre-tax subtotal. The calculator lets you tip on either.
Can I round to whole dollars?
Yes — round each person's share up so everyone avoids coin change.
