How it works
Tiles = floor area / tile area, rounded up, plus wastage. Cross tees are 4 ft members snapped on each side of a tile — count equals tiles in the long direction.
Tips
- Start grid layout from room center so borders are even.
- A 2x4 tile ceiling needs about half the tiles of 2x2.
- Order extra for future panel damage.
Limitations
Main runners and hanger wire quantities require a grid layout, not just tile math.

How do I handle the border cuts?
Tiles at the edges are cut to fit, increasing waste — about 5% for a clean rectangular room.
Does it include the main runners?
It counts tiles and cross tees; main runners (rails) are bought by room length — add one runner per 4 ft row.
